Our Bride & Groom pairing! We have sold a great deal of our wooden rings as wedding bands. What an awesome non-traditional symbol, of uniting!
Banksia pod is such a beautiful wood. The colour, the beauty marks, the grooves and shape of the pod. To take a chunk of it, and shave it down to create art, is quite amazing. We have crafted them into wine toppers, tealights…and now earring pendants. So unique. I think they are simply, beautiful. 🙂
I knew my husband had talent, when he started making our wood rings. What starts off as a thin piece of black walnut veneer (our best seller), transforms into a beautiful masterpiece. Completely handcrafted.
Because we are building our business slowly, he works away for a time. But, when he returns, he spends his days off in our shop, crafting, turning. This past week, he decided to try inlaying a piece of sterling silver into the wood. What a beautiful piece of jewelry he created!
The weather is trying so hard to transition into spring, and we are back from an enjoyable holiday away.
When we began making wine bottle toppers, we thought, how lovely they would be for a gift. Take a bottle of wine, and compliment it with a handcrafted stopper. Then we pondered how to display them for selling. My crafty husband turned out a wooden wine bottle! Brilliant! We didn’t really think about selling the actual wooden bottle, just the toppers. Funny enough, we have now started selling the bottles. How awesome it would look with various toppers!
Wood is such a cool material to use. It is quite amazing what products we can create with a single chunk of wood. Our newest project, are wine bottle toppers/stoppers that are nothing short of pure art. A lovely statement atop of a bottle. Made from maple burl, each piece is crafted into desired shape, sanded to a glass feel, and finished with a food grade mineral oil to truly bring out the beauty of the wood!
